Presenter:  Patricia Bell, Director of Culture and Human Resources, Justice in Motion and HR/Leadership Development Consultant

Program Description:

The demands of work are constantly changing, and one professional career group is expected to help everyone else navigate with success. That’s right, the HR Professional. We have been called to bring clarity to new employee expectations, develop best practices for remote/hybrid workplaces and address the social issues impacting how we communicate, recruit, and retain our best employees. Sometimes in the face of all these challenges, it is easy to become fainthearted. There is a new competency for those of us who choose to become, “Champions of Courage”. Join us as we discuss topics that have put each of us outside of our comfort zones. You will leave the session with a renewed commitment to love the work we do!

Session Objectives:

• Understand the importance of external factors impacting our workplaces today. • Evaluate the required characteristics of a “Champion of Courage” to be an effective HR professional.

• Review strategies to assist leaders and employees to address new, sensitive conversations from COVID challenges, employee work preferences, justice and equity in the workplace and psychological safety.

• Create a plan to define courage in the organization and how to demonstrate safety for employees dealing with tough issues today
